Email Setup - Thunderbird - IMAP
Setting up an IMAP Account in Thunderbird
1. Open Thunderbird.
2. Click 'Tools' then 'Account Settings' from the drop down menu.

3. Go to the bottom of the screen that pops up and click on the 'Add Account' button.

4. The Account Wizard should appear once the 'Add Account' button has been clicked. After the wizard has appeared, select the ‘E-mail Account’ option if not already selected then click ‘Next’.

5. Enter your name in the ‘Your Name’ text box (John Smith in this example) and enter the e-mail address that your Internet Service Provider gave you in the ‘Email Address’ text box (username@tbaytel.net in this example). Once this is completed, click ‘Next’ to continue.

6. Select ‘IMAP’ for the type of incoming server.

7. Type in ‘mail.tbaytel.net’ in the Incoming Server text box. Click ‘Next’.

8. Confirm that your email address is typed in the ‘Incoming User Name’ text box, if it is not then type it in then click ‘Next’.

9. Verify that your email address is in the ‘Account Name’ text box. Click ‘Next’.

10. Now just click ‘Finish’ and you’re done!
