Email Setup - Thunderbird - POP3
Setting up a POP3 Account in Thunderbird
1. Open Thunderbird.
2. Click 'Tools' then 'Account Settings' from the drop down menu.
3. Go to the bottom of the screen that pops up and click on the 'Add Account' button.
4. The Account Wizard should appear once the 'Add Account' button has been clicked. After the wizard has appeared, select the 'E-mail Account' option if not already selected then click 'Next'.
5. Enter your name in the 'Your Name' text box (John Smith in this example) and enter the e-mail address that your Internet Service Provider gave you in the 'Email Address' text box (username@tbaytel.net in this example). Once this is completed, click 'Next' to continue.
6. Select 'POP' for the type of incoming server. In the 'Incoming Server' text box type in 'mail.tbaytel.net'. The 'Use Global Inbox' is an optional feature, only check if you plan on using more then one account, otherwise uncheck it. Click 'Next' to continue.
7. Make sure your email address is rewritten here the same way it was entered in step 5. Click 'Next' to continue.
8. Account Name is also the same as your email address. Click 'Next' to continue.
9. Now just click 'Finish' and you're done!
